About Me

Pictured here is my horse Cordi, my dog Mae, and me, the maker behind Red Dirt Handmade. I have found no place I prefer more than on the back of a good horse somewhere in the middle of an Arizona desert. Cowboying is my passion and it resonates deep in my bones, however in second place is silversmithing and here's a little bit about how I discovered that love.

At the end of 2020 I was living on a ranch deep in the Arizona desert (an hour and a half down a rocky dirt road kind of deep) and in an effort to make some extra money I started building leather goods, I quickly found out that leatherwork is not for me, but major kudos to all of you leather workers out there, I am impressed by your patience. So in March of 2022 I took the leap and invested all of my money in the tools and materials I needed to start making turquoise and silver jewelry, it was a big leap and to be honest, a scary one. Slowly, through some instagram videos and a LOT of trial and error, I learned how to create beautiful pieces of jewelry and, thanks to all the support I received in those first few releases, I was able to continue and grow as a business and as an artist to create the pieces you see today. Now I am continually pushing myself to improve as an artist and, out of necessity, as a businesswoman to provide you with quality jewelry that lasts through the long and tough days that compile into this life.
